Dear Reader,

I have chosen to self-publish my doctoral dissertation in the form of this blog.  I have chunked the dissertation into short, blog-sized posts that will be more manageable to read.  Each week (beginning May 14), I will post.  At some point, I will initiate some sort of conversation regarding the contents of this dissertation; whether in the form of comments or a discussion forum.  For now, I have disabled the commenting feature so as to focus on the content of the dissertation.

This has been a labor of love for me this past year.  I hope that you enjoy reading this and find it useful in your own research, or continued social justice work.
